Camp History
The camp property, 120 acres in the Black Hills, was acquired in 1964. It includes woods, hills, and a stream.Information on Property and Camp Facilities
The camp is located in a tourist area near Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park. The camp has a beautiful stream that meanders through the property. The lodge houses the dining hall and kitchen and sits on a ridge above the stream and looks out over a beautiful valley. There are two log cabins, a quadplex, and a duplex for staff. There is a maintenance building and an historic stagecoach house.
Camp Programs and Special Features
Our camp includes Blind camp, Adventurer camp (ages 7-9), Junior camp (ages 10-12), Specialty camp (which includes aquatics, backpacking/rockclimbing, horsemanship, mountain biking, and spelunking), and Teen camp. Our camp offers the excitement of outdoor opportunities that strengthen campers physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Directions to Camp
Flag Mountain Camp is located west of Hill City. From Rapid City go south on Highway 16 past Mount Rushmore. When you come into Hill City, take Deerfield Road about 10 miles. Turn north on Slate Prairie Road, drive approximately three miles, and turn right on Kinney Springs Road. This continues for 1.8 miles and dead-ends at the camp.
